Blanket Cleaning
The cleaning process for blankets is pretty simple.
First they are rinsed with a power washer to remove excess dirt, grime, urine, mud, and other such filth. Just enough power to get the muck off, not so much to damage the material.
Then they go into the washing machine with blanket safe Dry Guy detergent. This stuff is magic. It has neutralized the smelliest of blankets. Plus it's eco friendly and made to preserve the blanket's waterproofing.
Finally they line dry outside, or inside with a fan in case of inclement weather, but never with a clothes dryer.
Blanket Repair and Waterproofing
When blankets are checked in they are tagged with a number. Any major damage is noted. Blankets are then cleaned, as described above.
Once blankets are cleaned and air dried they are inspected again for damage and noted on their paperwork. Repairs are charged by the 15 minute increment. To keep prices low, lots of recycled materials are used in the repairs. From seatbelting to swatches from old blankets. I cannot promise matching all the colors as my repairs are more function over form. Every blanket is repaired to the same standard I use on my own horse's blankets, if it's not tough enough those hooligans will tear it up again. The main difference is the thread color, black for customers, rainbow for my own.
Last year we tested 6 waterproofing sprays to see which one works the best. The tie was between Simprax (made in Germany) and Better Boat (made in the USA). Both apply easily, are eco friendly, and provided sufficient waterproofness even on older blankets. Better Boat is currently easier to purchase. The blankets thoroughly air dry after application before being put away.

Are blankets and sheets in your way all summer? Let us store them here! For only $10 per blanket we'll keep them safe and out of your way from April to November. Add this service onto your blanket wash and repair or bring in your own already clean blankets for storage. We will also accept your blanket filled totes for $40 per tote.
